It quite regrettable that no tax benefits has been given to senior citizens particularly to retired bank employees who are in the income bracket of less than 5.00 lacs. Even the exemptions of 10,000/- for SB interest can be availed only if one earn so much interest in SB a/c. On the other hand there is considerable increase in service tax. Through your blog I request all retired employees to lobby for additional IT exemption of atleast 10,000/- for senior citizens.
